Upcoming Rides, Classes and Events

Saturday Morning Ride

We have started a Saturday morning fun ride at 9:00 am. This is geared for beginners. We will ride as a group so no one feels left behind. We enjoy teaching safety skills and group riding skills. Mark Fetzer will be the primary ride leader. Ride distance will not exceed 20-25 miles at a speed of less than 14 mph.

Traffic Skills 101

This class is taught quarterly and we do not have a date for the next class. Please contact Jodi and she will contact you when the date for the next class is scheduled. Learn safe and confident bicycling. Become familiar with laws covering bicycling as well as your bike equipment, including gears, fixing flats, injury prevention, crash avoidance, on-bike skills practice and top it off with a group ride. Park Tool - "True" Tune-up class

We just had this class and do not have a date for the next one. Contact us with us your phone number or email and we will let you know when it is available again. This class is taught by Marc Coutu and is limited to 4 students. He covers the most basic maintenance precedures and assume participants have no previous experience. Students bring their own bikes and will learn how to change a flat tire, adjust brakes, gears, and bearing along with basic trouble shooting. Suwannee Sweetheart Ride

February 12th-14th - This is an annual ride for the Suwannee Bicycle Association. You do not need to bring a sweetheart, but the roads around White Springs are special. There will be rides of varying distance. Breakfast and stocked rest areas will be provided along with dinner on Sunday evening. To register and get more information go to: www.suwanneebike.org.

Ride with Me for Autism

March 6th - The American Academy of Pediatrics announced in October, 2009, that one out of 91 children is being diagnosed with autism today and 1 out of 58 boys are affected. Tragically roughly one percent of Americans children are now on the autism spectrum. This ride raises money for Autism awareness, and provides assistance to families with the emotional and financial hardships that the effected families go thru. contact: www.ridewithmeforautism.org.

Bicycle Flea Market / Swap Meet

March 20th - In conjuction with the Lakeshore Area Preservation Society we will host a Bicycle Swap Meet and Flea Market. This will be on Bayveiw ave directly across from our store. Go thru all your cycling gear and decide what you will never use again. You can set up your own booth or bring if by the shop the week before we will sell your under used equipment and let you spend it in the shop as a store credit.

Demo Day - Mens Road and Mountian

Saturday, March 27th at the Imeson end of the Jacksonville/Baldwin Railtrail we will be hosting the Specialized demo van. This is a great opportunity to test ride a wide assortment of bicycles. We will have food and swag.There will be oneday specials on bikes for anyone that shows up. There will be size runs of Tarmacs, Roubaixs, Stumpjumpers, and FSR's. Bike Florida

March 27th-April 2nd - The 17th annual Bike Florida will explore the Deland and Daytona area. Sleeping accommodations vary from camping to bed & breakfasts. Highlights include Bulow plantation, Daytona International Speed, historic Stetson University and Bulow Plantation. For more information and registration go to: www.bikeflorida.org.

Scout Reach 100

Aprill 11th - The first annual event to benifit At-Risk-Youth in north Florida. This ride starts at the St Augustine Amphitheater and the organizers assisted with last falls Watermellon ride as well as many other NFBC events so it should be well organized and you should be well fed. Spring Bicycle and Paddle Festival

April 30th-May 2nd - This is a newly organized spring event by the Suwannee Bicycle Association. Camping at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center is included but there are several B&B's, hotels and cabins available. Ride of Silence

May 19 - The Ride of Silence is a memorial ride to remember fellow bicyclist the have died while cycling. The ride starts at LakeShore Bicycle and Fitness at 7:00 pm. We will ride appoximately 10 -12 miles at a maximum speed of 12 mph. We do not talk during the ride (silence). Afterwards we will have a rememberance. American Diabetes Association - Tour de Cure

May 22nd & 23rd - This is a great bike ride for a great cause. We ride from Jacksonville to St Augustine on Saturday thru country roads. Saturday night there is a beach party with dinner provided by the St. Augustine Independent Restaurant Association. Sunday morning we ride back along Ponte Vedra Beach.
